Ah Slovenia, what an amazing first visit to this wonderful country I just experienced. Whilst I knew of Bled’s beauty prior to my visit, I still wasn’t fully prepared for just how amazing it was to be, nor was I prepared for the affordability of its skiing and snowboarding opportunities. On reflection, 5 days in Slovenia was not enough, and its certainly a country I would like to explore more.
For this trip though, it was 4 days in Bled with access to Vogel ski centre, and then a day in the capital of Ljubljana. It all went a little bit like this …
Glad you found and enjoyed Vogel – one of my favourite areas of Slovenia. Despite not offering the highest skiing in Slovenia it benefits from probably being the most snow-sure resort; Bovec, the resort offering winter-sports at the most elevated altitude in Slovenia has been closed for a few years although it hopes to reopen for the 2015/16 season.
Regards.
@Charlie – Thanks Charlie. Yeah we were advised to go to Vogel because of the high likelihood of snow, and it did not disappoint. I hadn’t heard of Bovec, but I’ll look it up now with a view to 2016 maybe. Have you been to Bovec? Thanks for taking the time to comment!
